Al Mawada Holdings Limited is a Tanzanian real estate developer based in Dar es Salaam, built around a simple conviction: that quality living and honest business go hand in hand.
Al Mawada — Arabic for “affection and harmony” — was founded on the belief that a home should give people exactly that. What began as a focused rentals and property management business is growing into a full real estate development company, with a pipeline of apartment and community projects across Dar es Salaam.
We are early in that journey by design. Every process, partnership, and project is being built deliberately — so that as Al Mawada scales, the standard of trust our name is built on scales with it.
Al Mawada Holdings Limited was founded by Yahya Khamis, a Tanzanian entrepreneur and investor whose career spans telecommunications, private investment, and international real estate development.
Yahya began his career in senior management at Vodacom Tanzania, leading commercial and operational teams within one of East Africa’s largest telecommunications companies — an experience that shaped his disciplined, process-driven approach to building organizations. He later moved into investment and development, building a portfolio that includes a stake in Palm Group and involvement in several turnkey real estate projects across Dubai, Tanzania, and South Africa.
That cross-border experience gave Yahya a firsthand view of what world-class real estate delivery requires — disciplined execution, transparent buyer communication, and design built around how people actually live. Al Mawada Holdings is the product of that experience, brought home to Tanzania: built by a Tanzanian, for Tanzanians, without compromise on quality.
